When you say freshwater, you do mean filtered right? If not what did you use to wash it with? Just throwing examples out, but a outdoor hose could have contaminated, or maybe trace amounts of chlorine that stayed in the sand. Drained afterall is not dry.
Fish factory in Bristol, pa and hidden reef in Levittown, pa. Actually about 1 mile from each other. Hidden reef is nice for dry goods and more or less the cheapest for salt. Fish are ok on the right day, coral is bad they have a good amount of coral but I have yet to buy any from them. If you...
No prob. In my 44 I had the 2 750's about halfway down pointing towards the front/center/up. And the 425 behind the rocks. I think you'll be good with the 750's and both 425's
Personally, I would go with the 750's at least. I might even use the 1050's. I had a 44gal pentagon tank that I had 2 750's and a 425 on and I still felt like I could use more flow. The 425's are not gonna cut it IMO.
What size is the DT, and the sump? Remember only the first baffle would be 10" high, if you follow the diagram, the remaining will be shorter by 1" then another 1".
Thats my drawing and my sump. this was my first sump. I had it built for me, and the water level was determined by the recommended skimmer depth.
This is my current. same one in the sketch you posted. I got about 10 gal more volume out of it. I could have gotten more had I made the baffles...
Sump depth is entirely up to you. Remember you can always build a stand as I did to raise the skimmer. Example, I used a 40 breeder for a sump. My skimmer, a SWC160 cone is recommended at 7"-9" I believe. I wanted to sun it at 7.5". I had to build a stand to accomplish this since my first baffle...
Paul I have the aquatec 8800 http://www.thefilterguys.biz/booster_pumps.htm
I absolutely love it. I had to buy my water before I got it. I just didn't have the pressure in my home. I can make about 5-6 gal an hr with it. That's with water set at the coldest setting. If I warm a bit that amount...
Good start George. While i love my 90, I really wish i listened to People that suggested the 120. That extra 6" right now would make a huge difference. Can't wait to see this come together. I like the cabinet your following as well. When you posted that it got my wheels turning. Hope you don't...
Welcome to the club. I look forward to seeing the progress. Jason is a good guy. He helped me along when I was beginning as well. However, remember he's a salesman and it will become apparent as time goes on. As for coral, try to stay away from hidden reef for that. I've looked plenty of times...
That sucks. I know my wife ordered them for me for Xmas. She doesn't know that I know. Hopefully they didn't mess things up for me too. That could be an issue since, well I'm not getting them for a while.
