This will have pretty much all you need to know. The recipes are a bit old I believe. Some of the stuff he uses may or may not be avail. But the stuff BRS sells is the same.
It's a 90 gal plus another 29 running in the sump. I'm figuring around 95 total volume. I'm also SPS heavy, and really packing on the growth. When I was bringing up my Alk 25ml a day wasn't even touching it. I had to increase to 50ml to start to raise slowly. I was thinking of starting my dose...
Well I think I found the answer to my question.
I was just looking at randy Holmes directions for dosing and he states just pick a starting daily dose based on type of reef and go with that for a few days then adjust up or down till you get to the right place. Sound right? Or is there a better...
I know this has been covered over and over, but I've still got some questions.
First my parameters as of this morning.
Calcium-430
Alkalinity-7
Magnesium-1360
So I finally have everything where I want them. Now I have to keep them there. I know that I should test for a number of days to find...
So I just finished carving my sons pumpkin, and I get the bright idea to mince some up a put a few pieces in the tank to see what happens. They gobbled it up. FAST. I've been looking for some homemade fish food recipes lately and noticed that many people put broccoli and carrots in it. So I...
Just remember that even the slightest bit of SPS in the DT that remains can harbor the red bugs. Including any spots that may have encrusted to the rock and you don't notice. When you pull the SPS out make sure you get it all.
Not for nothing, but you better off not going to that LFS for anything other then salt. Its really heading downhill. Glad you were able to find what you needed at Trop. if there is anything I can help you with feel free to ask
I can't find the link, but I read somewhere that all distilled water is equal. Depending on your location it may be cheaper to visit the LFS and buy water from them. For example, tropiquarium had rodi water for $.50 gal and salt for $1 gal. The cheapest I've ever seen distilled is $1 gal
Ok now I dumb when it comes to this stuff. I guess I would need the one that hooks to the battery terminals as opposed to cigarette lighter? Is there a certain wattage I should be looking for?
I just use a battery backup that I got from best buy for my computer. Worst case scenario ill just plug me return pump into it. That should be all ill need.
I matched my two tanks in those prams. That way I could just move from one to the other. I figured that would be less stressful then having to get caught in old tank then sit in a bucket for 2-3 hrs just to get caught again to go into the new tank. I had zero problems with any fish, invert, or...
Everything looks great. I also love the way that cabinet came out. I've been wanting to build one for next to my tank also just haven't found the time.
Yep that might be me on Monday.
On another note I got slightly distracted by the suggested video on you tube of Katy perry in the Elmo shirt.
Ok VERY distracted.
People will kill me here but I had a Red Sea prizim skimmer on my 44 and it worked great. It is a HOB or can be used submersed, and is relatively inexpensive. But it takes some getting used to and a bit of dialing in. If you gonna have a sump and have the room bubble magus nac 3 & nac 3.5 can...
