Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
Well if its gonna be outside of the stand temporarily, just get any tank or Rubbermaid container and you'll be good
I have a bunch of Rubbermaid storage containers that I used when I was swapping tanks. If you want one. You can have it, not sure how far you are from Blackwood, 08012 tho.
I don't know if my system will get "shocked" as its only been running for 2 months. But better to be safe than sorry I guess. How does everyone run their phosguard? In a reactor or a bag?
Alright so maybe I'll do that then. I'll take out half the pellets. Add a little bit of phosguard and slowly swap em out. How long of a period would you say before its completely switched out?
And is phosguard a pellet or like a bag of carbon type thing?
Even tho my po4 keeps going up? I've added about 900ml over a 2 month span. Not sure I can go any slower without it becoming a real problem for my corals.
What's phosguard? Is that pellets too?
Even at that, my triggers are only 3 inches and my yellow tang is maybe 4-5in.
I've never tried phosguard. Pellets have been up for about 2 months now I think. Still adding pellets, almost up to 1000ml in the reactor now and still have a decent amount of po4.
2 blue throat triggers
1 yellow tang
3 different wrasses
2 Anthias
2 clowns
1 clown goby
1 watchman goby
1 hawk fish
So 13 I guess? I feel like I'm missing someone tho
Its gonna stink if I have to take them off. I'll have to redo a portion of my manifold to make it fit another reactor :/ its always something with these tanks lol
I'm gonna leave em on for now. What other problems have people come across because of pellets? Bc I have a few things going on but not sure if they're related. I have cyano on certain rocks. Also when I went lights out for 2 days, I developed a lot of stringy algae(I'm guessing) on the glass...
Bc I thought GFO wasn't really doing the job for me so I decided to give pellets a try. I guess it was doing a better job than pellets tho. Should I turn off the pellets for a few days and see if things get better?
Skimmer is fine. Emptying it once a week with thick gunk.
I may try the red slime remover, if it doesn't work, would I essentially have to go back to GFO?
All are in check except for my phosphates, they're a tad bit high. Still trying to get my biopellets underway. My nitrates are below 5ppm always. No ammo, no nitrites, alk and calc are stable, mag is a little high but nothing crazy
Alright, I really need some help guys. Cyano. How do I get rid of it? I siphoned out, took rocks out, scrubbed them, went lights out for 2 days. It seemed like it worked a little but it keeps coming back even thicker it seems. I feel like some of my zoas aren't appreciating it either
