Well now that I am getting into the whole Smart Home system I added a Philips Hue rope light to under my sump; my current disc led wireless switch stopped working (most likely just need new batteries). This is much brighter than the disc light anyway so I'm liking the light right now. Now it...
OK guys well today I had something bad happen (not tank related). My box of computer parts decided it didn't want to be on the shelf any longer. It's time to clean the closet. While digging everything out I came across a spare Marineland led light (not sure size but I know I used it on my 36g...
Welcome to the club and the hobby. You will find out there are 1,000s of ways to do something and at least one person will tell you that your doing it wrong. What it comes down to is your fish and corals are happy and healthy.
As many mentioned above take your time and do your research. The...
I'm sure you guys saw I changed my sump around (same size sump just went from hoses to PVC; also added a manifold for my reactor. I also changed my overflow to hold more water.
I had my tank mark for my water change with electric tape. This worked out perfectly with my old setup but today I...
Did you do you calculation based off your numbers before a water change or after? Also how soon after a water change did you test? I prefer to do my testing about 24hours after a water change to let things even out. But if I do it sooner I do no sooner than 10 to 30min after a water change
I had my dkh down to 7 without harming my pH (between 7.8 and 8)
I would bring those numbers up but like mention do it slowly. I aim for the following (not sure if those are good numbers or not but my corals are doing ok)
Cal - 450
Dkh - 10
Mag - 1390
Don't think it would happen over night but does seem odd that this fish would be the only one hurt if it was a fight. Maybe Paul could be on something with the power head
I have personally only used one type of power heads since entering into this hobby and that are the Jabeo RWs. (I believe they are now called PP). The MPs I hear are very nice but costly. If cost isn't a concern for you then I would suggest sticking with the MPs. The Jabeos are cheaper but I...
