Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
Ok so two days ago I cleaned out the overflow. Got most if not all junk out. I then dried the overflow top and bottom. I let it air dry yesterday and today I installed the new bulkheads. I have to say these new bulkheads are 100x better. The other ones I ordered off of Amazon and I ordered...
@redfishbluefish is that tank still there? Do we have any information on location/pictures/live stock/etc...? Just thinking something like that would be nice to "highlight" on our website.
Hospital would be cool place as well.
I'm sure there tons of stuff to take into consideration, like schedule, cleaning, who paying, insurance if something goes wrong, etc.....
crazy idea but it would be cool if we had a club tank. Pick a public place (like a school, college, business, etc..) that willing to house a large tank and members from the club take turn maintaining it and upkeep.
thanks for the information @redfishbluefish I had a feeling that was the case but wanted to check cause what I know about electric is what I know about rocket science.
I know on my system each two outlet is 15amp (cause I split one power strip outlet to two outlets on my system) but each...
Paul just wondering why on a Ranco or a DIY its not a concern and on an apex or reef keeper it is? How much do those expansion socks run? I might need to pick you brain more when I get into heater controls with my controller (more on wiring/power than programming)
you know if you want to enter into the pi game I would suggest getting a pi and a temp sensor (pretty cheap) and have it monitor your temp along with the apex or reef keeper as you learn more about programming the pi.
Agree I would be concern with hurting your controller if you turn the heater all the way up and just let the controller to turn on and off the heater. Heaters are one of the most watt equipment we use on our tank. Their startup watt is high as well if I recall so if your heater is set full max...
I'm working on having my DIY pi controller to control two heaters but right now I just use the heater controller and have a temp sensor which alerts me of high and low temps via push notification and email to my phone
