    Nitrite. Is just as toxic as ammonia to fish. Check to make sure we are on the same page. But if you nitrite and not nitrate. Then you should do an immediate water change. The fish are essentially swimming in ammonia. You might still be cycling or have a death you might have missed

    do you dip them in vinegar or anything else when cleaning... its been well documented by people smarter than me that any type of corrosive breaks the seal on these things and allows saltwater to get to the metal and start this process. From this point i dont soak the magnet.. just...
