Cyano is a bacteria....yes the lights will cause it to darken when they are on, but it is there even when the lights are off. It is caused by high nutrients and low flow. I've battled cyano many times.
I planted a Habanero Pepper plant back in the Spring and I was getting a few peppers here and there, but now it seems to be bearing peppers like crazy now!! I just picked 4 ripe orange ones off and there are about 10-12 green ones about to turn...and I am still finding baby ones coming out...

I'm debating getting the Hanna Alkalinity and Calcium checkers through the group buy, but I've heard mixed reviews...especially on the calcium checker. I have the Phosphate checker and it works great. But what does everyone think about there 2?

If I was buying....I'd buy the radions. My reasons being...first the fixture is very sleek. Second, the fixtures will communicate with each other as well as my pumps. And third, having the green and red bulbs in there, imo, give a more broad spectrum of light. No other fixture has those other...
So the MP40's I have are the Gen2 wireless units, not the ESw units. They have a Night Mode feature where I can set the pumps so they go down 50% in intensity for 10 hours every day. Does anyone use this?? Should I be using it?? Does the natural ocean calm down at night??

I've been using the lye method and it seems to be working quite well. I just have so many still and I don't want to put too much lye and kalk in my tank at once. I try to do it every other day.
I've always agreed with this!! My Sailfin tang had the beginnings of HLLE....I stopped using carbon and it healed completely!! Great to know someone finally proved it.
I think you should do the background in purple with yellow stripes. Lol
Personally, I like black the best....it's clean looking and blue looks too pet store for me
