Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
This guy was on my screen door last week. Haven't seen one in a long time.
Anyways thought it was pretty neat and just wanted to share! His (or her) eyesight was excellent...kept staring me down wherever I went. Was not afraid of me at all. Probably thought I was a giant cricket.
Things have been busy and time flies. I'm still in the hobby - but I haven't had as much time to contribute to the club lately. Hope to make it to one of the meetings again to at least show my face so you guys know i'm still alive...lol.
The 120 continues to live on...apparently the one RBTA...
the only time my pump doesn't work is when i first start it up (that is, brand new RO water being added to empty tub). There will be airbubbles in the pump that prevent water from being pushed. Shaking the pump allows the bubbles to come out and the water pumps immediately. Failing that then...
holy cows I felt like i read a years' log in just a few days. It saddens me that someone sold you Biff without asking what other fish you had in the tank. It's like building a HS and the first kid you put in there is the bully who has teeth. Anyways now that your fish are no longer in...
It's a reminder for all of us not to release our pet fish into the ocean. Although legend has it a hurricane in FL released the lionfish - but i'm betting someone let their "pet" go.

what size powerhead is that? a 55 is 4 feet long and i'd try and make sure there is enough circulation going across the tank.... Stronger circulation will also discourage the brown algae - although that could just be the tank maturing.
what kind of lighting do you have in your tank and how old? It probably is normally the color you see now, but bleached out due to stress at petco. That's just a out of left field guess.
The staghorn corals in the carribean have already been decimated, I don't get the 35 year prognosis. It'll be gone a lot faster if nothing is done. This is one of the main reasons why this club supports organizations like this:
Coral Restoration Foundation | Restoring & Protecting Reefs
it was probably being fed during the day - which is why it opened when it did. When are you feeding it? You may need to "train" it by covering it when feeding (or taking it out and placing in a cup with food). Good luck! They are beautiful and I used to diligently feed each polyp. I gave...
