even if we stoped buying corals taken from the ocean i dont think the stores would stop stocking them : / so i think people buying them gives a better chance and also a better luck to discover a gem and find a nice name for :)

ok then no need to be alarmed then- these are kinda like coral intestines and aid in the capturing and absorbing food. if you brow on them they will slowly retract inside the coral. no need to worry there sensing food and searching for it.
