that looks like the ora's hyacinths birdnest to me- would be easier to tell if it was a little older -it looks like its going to explode with hundreds of branches any day now greg its gonna be beautiful. Is that under the t-5 lighting?
yeap figured out it had to be the trace elements or something was in the water that shouldnt be there- after doing 12 gallon weekly waterchanges everything poped back but this week i couldn't do a water-change- lots of stuff happening and the tank needs to run on its own for a week- you think...
coraline algea is kind of like corals- they need strong but to mcuh will cause it to bleach- i think a metal halides spectrum helps the coraline grow - while the t-5s just puts out to much of somesort of light that they dont like- in my caves theres coraline growing but what ever light hits is...
yeap the lights are whats contributing to the coraline growth- i used to have 15k 250watt metal halides then i move the rocks to a t-5 tank and all the coral bleached- if i throw the rock in the sump with a compact fluorescence bulb it will color back up or leave the rok in some sold saltwater...
the well the angel is up to you- after awhile he may start doing more noticeable damage to the corals and although corals polpys are always out more at night time than day the angel could be scaring the corals so they never let out there polpys. Purple up i dont think should be used to...
some sort of red macro algea- it grows in my sump and looks nice but if it goes up north the tangs will destroy it- for some reason it likes a lower spectrum like under 10k
yeah im not to sure i ever seen his tank in person or on the computer- im just trying to find good time amounts to dip that get the job done but dont stress the coral so much theres a chance to lose them.
very nice- cant wait to see a fts and see with those leds on it- have you ever had any bad experiences with your dipping of corals? 1. how long you are dipping with the revive? Also have you ever seen anything come off the coral from the dip for example red bugs or flat worms? I need to find an...
if you dont want them taking over your rocks have them on the sand or next to the walls in your tank so they can grow up the walls . I can only immagine wat trop charged for a piece liek that lol
i have led rope lights green- white and the leds in there are not strong enough or focused enough to provide penetrating through the water while the t-5s are on- i was wondering if any of you knew any places in NJ that sells strong leds seems like most places are just online sites- kind of hard...
oh jeeze i started a fight lol- either of you two know where i can get leds that i can put together that will produce strong shimmer over my 75 while all the t-5s are on? Kinda want a simple build thats going to work like halides so i dont waist my money and time.
hah thanks i wsh they have just a plain and simple build on there that use a few leds to put over a t-5 tank- i saw some member put a picture of there t-5 tank with 6 leds over it 12 watts totatl idk how he got 12 i couldnt find anyone selling 2 watt leds- he has 3 on each side angles towards...
