Mandarins are extremely cool and I have been keeping them for many years. They are a long lived fish if you know their requirements and not a get and forget fish. They do need a little help but the beauty of them make them worthwhile.

I can only tell you what I read, that they have a very short lifespan. I had many of them and I think they all died of old age is 3 or 4 years is supposed to be it for them. I am surprised their lifespan is so short as they are a fairly large fish.
