    Trip to Disney

This week we went to Disney World with our two Grand Kids, Daughter and Son N Law. They actually took us. We haven't gone to Disney in about 30 years when we took our Daughter a few times. A lot is changed as now they added more princesses, Buzz Lightyear, some Johnny Depp stuff in Pirates of...

    Steam Punk Lamp

This one I need an opinion on before I finish it. It is solid brass and I still have to put a switch in it. I was thinking of adding another bulb, like the last blow torch light on a brass pipe coming out of the base but on top. It would also have a dual function switch like the last one. Or...

    Oh No Flood!

It's a cheap leak detector. You can buy one for a lot more money but a GFCI is probably more reliable as it was built to save people's lives and is held to a higher criterie than a fish tank alarm would be

    Oh No Flood!

The bare wires are encased in a small plastic container with holes in it. The hot wire is in series with a 7 watt bulb, the other wire is a ground. It also works (usually) by using the neutral and ground, but not always. You won't get lit as that is what the GFCI is for, but if you are...

Thanks, everything is fine and I am still married. I just baked corn muffins for her. Some day I will tell her about the tank :D

    Oh No Flood!

AAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHGGGGGGGGGGGGGG Flood!! I hate when I have a flood, but I really hate to have a flood when we have 8" of snow on the ground and are expecting a lot more, and I really hate having a flood, with 8" of snow on the ground when I also have a Doctors appointment and I know the...

    Steam Punk Lamp

I just finished this Blow Torch Lamp. The little pump handle turns it on. I do realize I am getting carried away. I am working on a smaller, blow torch lamp.

    Steam Punk Lamp

Thanks redfishblusfish. I actually knew about that and have done it. But like a two year old, I was to excited to put the thing together to do that. :D It is easy to take apart and I have to take it apart again to change the lamp socket so maybe I will age it like that. Thanks

    Steam Punk Lamp

That base is an antique, solid brass bath tub plate that reads Hot and Cold. It was polished brass but I sanded it to look like that. If I keep sanding it doesn't look any older but I know what you mean. I have a plan to age it more lie the lamp body. Thanks for the opinion. I wish...

    Steam Punk Lamp

I almost finished the third Steampunk light it is 99.99% done. I ordered a different, antique bulb socket so this red one is temporary. This light uses a bulb that has 99 LEDs that flicker in sequence to simulate fire. It is very cool in person but the camera just washes it out. The...

Tank birthday and I'm a Geezer

I took my wife here for dinner last night Oheka Castle - Wikipedia Our daughter gave that to us for my wife's birthday. It is the second largest private residence in the US. (my house is the third ) It was on 443 acres (I have a few less) and was one of the first fireproof...

Tank birthday and I'm a Geezer

My wife loves lobster and last night she taught a CCD class at the Catholic school so I made her a nice lobster dinner. On these forums most people call these a clean up crew, but here we call them dinner. I know how people feel about killing one of these for dinner but I didn't want to wait...

    Steam Punk Lamp

I am working on another Steam Punk Lamp. This one has fire in it (simulated but very cool) like a boiler. It will be painted like the others and I will add al sorts of "stuff" to it. I think this one will be the best out of the three.

Tank birthday and I'm a Geezer

We have this door in our bathroom that is for a closet/medicine cabinet/laundry shoot. The thing is 7' high and rounded. I designed this bathroom many years ago and I don't like straight walls, doors or women. So the door weighs about 150lbs, give or take 100lbs. The outside of it is white...

Tank birthday and I'm a Geezer

As I was doing this maintenance I noticed all the sponges I have. I love sponges. Each sponge filters 20,000 gallons (I made up that number because I forgot the actual number) of seawater a day and are great at removing car wash soap from your tank. I feed every day along with other things...

Tank birthday and I'm a Geezer

Busy morning like many people had. After we came back from breakfast I decided to do a little maintenance. For some reason I got ambitious. I had to put air in my car tires and add some oil and wiper washer fluid. Normal things that we don't want to do in the winter, but it is fairly warm...
