Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
Of course we can't see your tank from here but I notice a few things. First of all, nitrates did not kill your fish, nor did ammonia. Fish can tolerate nitrates well over 150. My fish now, which are almost all spawning are in my tank with nitrates about 80 and have been for years. If they...
I was just looking at my tank and Wow, I have way to many fish. A couple jumped out in the last few months but the rest of them just keep growing. They are all exuding health which is what they are supposed to do but the amount of food they need is really messing up my water. I don't know...
I have been using a baby brine shrimp feeder for many years. Notice the blue stripe pipefish and the mandarin are pregnant as they always are.

Mark, it sounds like you agree with me and that is unusual. It boggles my mind at how many disease threads there are and there is no need for it. A fish should almost never get sick, if mine don't, then no one's should as I am just a Lug Nut fish tank guy and not a professor of theoretical...
(I posted this elsewhere and also decided to put it here.)
When I wrote this (and quite a few other articles/posts) on this subject I knew there were going to be doubters and just plain un-believers so I was hesitant to post it. On some forums, I can't even mention immunity. As you know I got...
NyeGTI, it is hard because even after one day people on other forums are doubting and questioning everything, but they also can't explain why I don't have to quarantine and have not in 38 or so years.
I don't know if you noticed but there are an awefully lot of people posting on disease forums. Why is that? Fish in the sea are almost always healthy until someone puts them in a tank. I have been diving since the early 70s and don't remember ever seeing a sick fish on a reef. How many fish...
If you soak them in oil, remove most of the water first or the oil will just float. Just before you want to feed them to your fish, fill their container a few times and pour it out to remove the floating oil. It makes a mess.
I doubt the worms will live longer being covered in fish oil as they are water creatures. I just like to get as much fish oil into my fish as I can but even without the oil, IMO blackworms are the best food there is and I would not be in this hobby if I could not get live worms. That's how...
As I have been mentioning for decades I feed my fish live blackworms every day and IMO is the reason all my paired fish are spawning, I have never posted on a disease forum and I don't have to quarantine. I think I have found a way to make a great food even better. I have been experimenting...
If your reading is any less than about 108 volts, then it is induced electricity and is no problem, go back to sleep, maybe have a glass of Merlot. Are you sure you are reading your meter correctly and have it set on AC voltage possibly with a little picture like this next to the setting - - -...
In the summer my reef is a planted tank. I collect these codium seaweeds in the Atlantic as well as other algae's and stick them in my tank. They live for a few months then I throw them out. They are very common on the eastern part of Long Island New York and I think they look very cool.
I...
Like most people on the east coast, we got a little snow last night. About 27" I think. This is 2 hours after I cleared the sidewalk with my snow blower.
This would work.
It has a connection on it that you can connect to a TV or I would imagine a phone. When I get time I would like to try to figure it out as the pictures are very clear. It also has a light on the end that you can control the brightness and flip the picture over.
I got it in...
