    Other uses for LEDs

It would be harder to make a mast light from LEDs because a mast light must have 360 degree visability and LEDs are directional. I get them from "ModelTrainsSoftware.com". To make a mast light you would need about 8 or 10 of them and position them in a circle with the tops facing out. I will...

    Base for Live Rock

About a quarter of my rock is made from that Sakrete Mortor Mix and I never had any problems with pH. As a matter of fact, I never had to adjust it and it is perfect. Here are some more rock supports that are in the tank.

    Base for Live Rock

I like to keep my rocks off my substrait as much as posable but most of my rocks are large and heavy because I collected them in the sea. Much of my new rock is hollow PVC with cement coating it. I am soon going to re aquascape and I will keep the rocks lifted off the gravel with these...

    Other uses for LEDs

Can you solder? That is the main thing. These LEDs are mounted in a thin piece of acrylic that I drilled holes in. The LEDs are glued in with GOOP as you can't use hot gun glue (it is too hot) The copper ring is there to give it stability so it does not break when I push it into the socket.

    Other uses for LEDs

After I installed LEDs on my tank I looked for other uses for these great, energy saving devices. I have been using them for various indication lights since they were invented but now they make them much more powerful and you can use them for general lighting. I am sure that in a few years, they...

    DIY chiller

If I knew it was going to be 104 degrees here in NY now, I would have built it larger, but the tank is still about 80 degrees. ;D

    DIY chiller

There is a fan at the top right that blows water over the plates of cascading water causing evaporation and therefore cooling. Here it is over the worm tank

    DIY chiller

I really built this evaporative chiller for my blackworm tank but here in NY it is almost 100 degrees now so I transfered it to my reef for a while. It chilled my worm tank down to 65 degrees but that is only about one gallon. I will see how much it chills my 100 gallon reef. If it works I will...

    Anyone local with a zapper?

I am not sure but I can find out. I am not involved in that end of the business, as a matter of fact, I am not involved in almost any aspect of the business, I just invented the thing and let someone else do the business part. I am hapily retired. Majanowand.com is the web site where you can get...

    I need an electronics guru

Ok I have some 5 volt 20 ma LEDs and I want to run them on a 12 volt power supply. How many ohm resister do I need to make that happen? My electronics school was way to long ago to figure this out. It is not for the tank, it's for my boat.

Use any fish oil for human consumption and any type of sinking pellet

    Feeding LPS

True, I also feed my fish live worms every day but it is hard to feed worms to the corals because the fish see them and pick them out

    Feeding LPS

Maybe it's just me but I have been feeding my LPS corals pellets soaked in fish oil for years and they seem to thrive on it. I also feed other things but this is relatively easy and I like to get as much fish oil into them as I can. Bubble corals, torch corals and candy canes I know will eat...
