Paul I have something very similar to yours and have been very happy. All the corals seem quite happy, growing and full poly extension. The varied colors you have will also enhance colors on you fish and corals. You are right, the price is unbeatable!
No Paul, it was me. We talked about this before. I am all for qt and killing pests as you pointed out before we put them into our ecosystem. It should work great as a dip treatment.
I just do not like the product on ethical principles. The EPA studies are flawed and it is banned in...
Safe for the coral tank...yes ( Isolated ecosystem).Safe for the environment, I say no. A non selective insecticide that plants translocate throughout, killing both the good and the bad. It's not safe in my definition:(
Sorry for my soapbox 2 cents,
Pete
Flare gave me this favia as a single polyp. Do not know the name, cool though and loves to be fed. Reminds me of the plant from little shop of horrors.
Here is what I did today. Thanks to the boards here I used a mason drill bit and Made frag holes where I wanted with a diameter that will accept the plugs I will use.
I made sure my rock scape fit the bottom grid. This lower grid will sit on PVC pipe 1/2 inch high.
Now I built my...
Well I have had my old 10 gal nano serving as my frag qt tank. I have been informed that the piece of counter is being taken by eminent domain via my wife. So i need a new location we have at out house a utility section about 4-5 feet tall. It is here that I have begun my relocation and size...
John, I just use superglue gel. First a take a green scrubber and scrub the plastic. Apply a liberal amount of glue gel and stick quick. It really holds well and as of now almost all have encrusted so are there to stay. I did it on a whim and the frags there grow the best. Wish I arranged them a...
Thanks! As you can see I am running out of space, so why not!? My angle is to try all sorts of things and see what works and what I like so when I upgrade to a 90 gal this summer I can have a few of the kinks worked out.
With a leaking oil tank you are involving the DEP (department of environmental protection). The 40 thousand is ambiguous because you have no idea as to how far or extensive the contamination is. To buy this house with a 40 grand less purchase price is in my opinion foolish. The DEP will hold YOU...
So not to hijack the thread. But with my mixed reef I am dosing 2 part kent, soon to be BRS. At 15 ml per day to keep steady the alk and Ca. I am going to Disney in march with the family and have a house sitter to add to off. I was thinking of Kalc for the top off while I would be gone for the 6...
Here are some shots from this AM. It is a mixed reef, 55 gal, with a 20 gal sump / refugium. 125 gal reef octopus skimmer, reefbreeder programmable led lights.
Paul,
This is my mini Stone Hedge. They got these small guys while digging the propane tank trench. I will get some shots of the tank tomorrow, right now I have a three year old up using every trick she's got to not go back to bed lol!
So I finally can post some pictures, I hope. It all began in Feb of 2012. I got the itch to set up a reef tank after seeing how corals were thriving under LED lights in a pet store in Chicago. Well I then raw a Visio from Indonesia pacific reefs on how to set up a nano tank. Here was mine... As...
Cool . On YouTube there is a guy called rickets reef who shows how to make a tank. At the least his videos are fun and informative as his addiction... Hobby grows .
