Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
All the following are fresh cut/plucked….nothing mounted. You’ll leave with a generous piece. Pictures are of mother colonies. All are $5/each.
LARGE HAIRY MUSHROOM
I have maybe four or five of these. Whatever one we can get off the rocks. Here’s the Momma, about 6-7 inches...

Yep! Just make sure you add Alk to Alk and Calc to Calc......I've made that mistake once!
Both components are rock solid stable.....calcium chloride (the calc part) and sodium carbonate (the alk part).
So Matt, you’ve been going for about a month with this biopellet reactor. Have you noticed an increase in skimmer output? Or any other changes I need to watch for?
Wow……WOW!
I agree with Mike and I’d also have a serous talk with you dad and let him know what’s going on. There is obviously some serious family issues going on that need to be addressed before setting up another tank.
And welcome to the club!
Fresh cut glass has very sharp edges. Glass shops will flame polish these edges to smooth them out so they are not sharp. They quickly run a flame over the edge to slightly round out the edges.
NOW HOLD ON ONE MINUTE! Don’t be to quick to comment on how drop-dead beautiful these corals are. Darren could be photo-shopping some ugly brown stuff to make it look pretty. I think it only fair that Darren host another meeting so that we could verify the true colors of these corals...
Phil, it didn’t hit me until you responded, but I would think a chiller is a required piece of equipment for you horse owners. They like their water cool!
That's interesting. I'd give them a call and specifically tell them that you have a NAC7 with an Atman and would the new SP2000 pump fit. So they came out with an upgrade kit for the NAC6 and NAC9, but potentially the NAC7 is a direct fix. Please keep up informed.
I now have three...
I'd hold off on an SWC that comes with an Atman pump. Atman is no longer in business so SWC is in need of identifying a new pump that will require modification to their skimmer. Bubble Magus has already done the switch over from Atman on their NAC6 and NAC9….They call it an “upgrade kit”.”...
I’m sorry, I don’t like it when Man fiddles with genetics. Look what they’ve done to the dog breeds…..genetic mutants that have multiple health problems.
Give me a regular old Ocellaris or Percula, and I’m happy!
TMTC
A couple more questions to get “The Rest of the Story.”
What salt are you using? How frequently do you do water changes? What volume of water do you change? What is you target specific gravity (salt concentration)? Are you using swing arm or refractometer to measure salt...
Herbie’s is OK with me for payment and delivery. I’ll just have to eat soup for the next month! So how do you want to work this as far as both hoods. Are you and Matt getting together on this ($80) and splitting the cost, or do you just want one hood. If each of you want one (and can...
George, I’ve heard the 24 and 28 take the same hood. I know they advertise their LED hood as fitting both the 24 and 28. If it helps, here are some dimensions off one of the hoods:
Two part will last forever.....sodium carbonate and calcium chloride....nothing there to degrade!
And not surprisingly, snake oil lasts forever as well.
The test kits.....no good.
Kent pH adjuster.....that's fine.
