    Falling skies

I read the first two books of the Strain, have not read the third one yet, and really enjoyed them. I heard nothing but good things about the pilot, so I guess I should be checking it out.

Interesting, it's like having a controller but having manual control.

    Coral phases

I agree our tastes change, and I think it also has to do with what is coming in right now. We just went through a really good run of zoas coming in (and still coming in) and now is seems some really nice mushrooms are coming in. I never had mushrooms, now I have a whole bunch in my frag tank...

"Don't have time for a water change"

There is a big difference with not doing a water change because you have a system setup to eliminate or control harmful things in your aquarium, and just not doing one beacuse you are lazy.

    20 Nano in Maplewood

We ran a 20g high for a long time and had a lot of success with it. We were doing weekly 10% water changes, and we did them religiously. We added a HOB refugium and a HOB skimmer which gave us a little more water volume and some help keeping the water clean. Water changes will depend on your...

    Growth or problem

+1 to this. There is a difference between bleaching a coral and having RTN/STN. Bleaching does not mean tissue necrosis, RTN/STN is tissue necrosis.

    Nano 16 Nuvo Aquarium

The addiction never leaves. Running my 12g JBJ AOI was pretty easy and minimum maintaence. You can't get into too much trouble in 12g of water.

    Gumdrop chalice browning and dying

You can try and dip it, once they start to recede, it is tough to get them to stop. If it is just a patch doing it, I would cut it.

    20 Nano in Maplewood

First off welcome to the club. If you are really worried about hitchhikers on rock, you can always order some Marco rock or something similiar that is dead dry rock. You have to cycle it yourself but it won't have any pests on it. The real reef rock it also a "fake" live rock that looks...
