Tropic Marin, mixes super clean and super quickly. Don't need too much alk and calc because of the cal reactor so no biggy there. The only downside is it takes almost double the salt to mix to 1.026. There is no perfect salt, lol.

Carbon and water change will help as well. Let him get out. They sell foam covers for pumps that you can put on there so they don't get sucked in. I would recommend getting one to make sure it does not happen in the future.

If you are going to use a ton at once the ecotech is the way to go. It is the best glue however it hardens in the bottle and becomes useless if you let it sit around too long. We use ic gel and have been using it for years. Seems like a good middle ground.
