    QTing a wrasse.

Not a maroon at all, looks like a perc or an onyx perc which has a lot more black to it than a regular perc.

    Aquascaping

They are all supposed to be reef safe. I know two little fishes makes one that we have used in the past and boston aqua farms as well.

    Aquascaping

Since it is already in the tank, you can use epoxy for them. Just about every store carries it and it will cure under water so you don't have to take the whole thing out.

    My 175g Reef Tank

While my experience with going down to the basement is none since I have not done it yet, I have read and seen enough tanks to offer some advice. 1. See if you can go through your wall and then down, it is easier to cut sheetrock and then replace it later on if it does not work out then going...

    QTing a wrasse.

With your current stocking list it might be ok becaus those are all larger fish that can hold their own against most other fish. Most horror stories from six lines come from more peaceful fish (firefish, basslets, less aggressive clowns, gobies) but I have read stories of them going after...

    QTing a wrasse.

That wrasse should be fine in QT, the only reason Howze asked is some species of wrasses you do not want to quarantine (leopards) and some you need some sand as that is what they sleep in. I think the 10g will be fine for one fish. Did you get the six line yet or is this an upcoming purchase...

    Coral Placements

John Yes those would be true palys. Artie, what we do is put them on a piece of rubble (like codfather said) then you can move them up and see.

    75g Mixed Madness

Make sure they are not sundail snails, they eat zoas. http://melevsreef.com/id/sundial_snail.html

    Coral Placements

    1. Keep the acan down low, the higher the light they will just morph to one color (red or orange) and lose all the cool color 2. GSP with win over zoas and just about everything else, as John said keep it in an area that it can't thread. 3. Zoas can grow together but at some point one will take...

    Sunny's FOWLR build thread ....

I love my reef but I also have the dreams of a big FOWLR down the line for some of the cool butterfiles, angels and wrasses that are not reef safe.

Considering how cheap and readily available revive and a bunch of other dips are I will take my chances with those.

    Different colored Cladiellia corals...

I don't have any but after doing a quick search they look like a very hardy photosynthetic coral. That is always a good thing to read.

    Marine Betta?

It is a species of grouper which means they are reef safe as the don't go after coral but they can eat smaller fish. Malulu has one in his tank, they are spectacular fish but they are cryptic.

Zoas and Palys aren’t opening up….

Algae on zoas can keep them from opening. A dip followed by a light scrub with a toothbrush or a q tip would help. Generally if they are getting algae issues on them it is from lack of flow.

Zoas and Palys aren’t opening up….

How old was the bulb you swapped out, was it also a 14k pheonix? Light shock can keep palys closed like that. Flow is also important, but it does not sound like that changed. It could be a pest, but if you have not added anything new you might be able to rule that out. I would move them down...

ASAP: Orange Spot Filefish needs the *right* home as soon as possible!

I love that fish so much, just don't have a tank for him to hang out in until I got him over to frozen food. Have you tried enticing him with live SPS just to get some meat on his bones?
