I have ordered coral succesfully online a bunch of times. The only time I ordered fish it was a bit of a nightmare and I doubt I would do it again. We ordered 4 panda gobies which are very small and they shipped them in 4 different bags. One bag was just empty, nothing in there. One bag was...
Two sides to every story yadda yadda yadda, but when I look at the other thread and see people like jsantoli, dnov99, Sandee, and adesmione can't keep their fish alive then I am probably going to shy away from the store.
An update and some pics. We bought a new T5 setup so we went from a 4 bulb to a 5 bulb. The bulbs are setup like this back to front:
Geismann Actinc+
Geismann 6000k Daylight
KZ Figi Pink
Geismann 6000k Daylight
Geisman Actinic+
All the color bulbs are on what plug and the two daylight bulbs...
Another note, you generally don't want live rock or sand in a QT as you are giving the parasites/bacteria a place to hang out off of the fish. If you look at QT you will see pvc piping or coffee mugs to give the fish somewhere to hide/swim around which will not harbor bad things.
I agree we have had three since MACNA, again going to reiterate the tank raised point. They eat just about anything and are very peaceful. My wife and I joke that a bangaii's response to anything in the tank is eat it first and then spit it out if it is not food.
We have always kept our cleaner shrimp in pairs, they seem much happier that way and they are hermaphoditic so you don't have to worry about sexing them. Ours are pregnant constantly and releasing their eggs into the tank which the fish love. Fire shrimp are the same way and ours become much...
This is very true, ours barely hit the bottom of the tank and they were all over it. It also depends on the size of the starfish vs the size of the shrimp. Once ours molted several times they were pretty big and were able to control the CC star pretty quickly. They also loved sand sifting stars...
They all go after different food sources so you should be ok. The only one I would be worried about is the pistol, they don't have that big claw for nothing. I kept halequins and cleaners together with no problem. I got rid of the harlequins because I wanted a reef tank and their food is not...
I will try and answer that question with what I am running (granted I am running it on about 50g total):
BW Coral Amino $16.90 Less than a ml a day, my selcon bottle which is about the same size lasts about 6 months at a full ml a day.
BW Reef Biofuel $8.90 around 50 drops per day. No idea how...
The solution to pollution is dilution, so yes that could be causing your rise in PO4. It was a pretty drastic cut from 10g a week to 5 g every other. Maybe find the happy medium of 5g every week.
