    Going back to t5

When you consider the $ involved to light a tank properly the ATI T5 fixtures are really a good deal. Get the dimmable one and you will need only one cable. So it looks slick with no wire galore, especially when hung from the ceiling.

    In Search Of Manifold Valve

I use an inline valve for this. You should be able to find it locally. It might fit. There are also 90 degree elbows you can use to route the pipe. Mur-lok RO Inline Ball Valve Push Connect - Bulk Reef Supply

    Inherited 90

Good job! DC pumps are great if only they make one for high head pressure I will switch in a heart beat. The ones working with pressure are those made in Germany and they cost thousands of dollars. For your manifold I would have a union right at the output of the pump so you can swap the pump...

    NJRC T shirts?

Maybe this is a dumb idea. Can the club order some shirts and sell them at RAP. There might be a demand for it.

    My journey back into reefing......

Both methods seem very complicated. A lot of nice nano tanks are run with much simple principals. Just saying :) Judeo - thanks for the link. Always wanted to read about it.

The Hand Me Down 75g Upgrade

You can also reduce the return flow. 250 gph is enough. That should help with the noise. Still herbie would be my choice. Use a pipe outside the overflow box for return. And the two holes in the box for herbie.

    Sodium Nitrate

@redfishbluefish. The weight of nitrate is actually 61.4% (not 13.9%). According to Randy. This makes sense because nitrate is NO3. Your calculation does not count the O's.

    Sodium Nitrate

I am going to take a wild guess here. Potassium Nitrate, N vs K is about 3 to 1. So raise 30 ppm of N you also raise 10 ppm of K. Macro consumes K, quite significantly. That's why you have K in fertilizers. Even assuming macro consumes no K, 10 ppm is very little compare to 450ppm of K for NSW...

    Sodium Nitrate

@Reefabout thanks. This is exactly what I want to achieve.

    Sodium Nitrate

Do you mean va potassium nitrate or vs not dosing nitrate at all?
  15. H

    Sodium Nitrate

I think either one is fine. The amount of sodium or potassium coming from the dose will be minute compare to the levels in NSW.

    Sodium Nitrate

Paul I feed a lot but I have to run GFO to remove the excess phosphate. Nitrate is zero always so there is an imbalance there. I am gonna go with pure sodium nitrate just want to know if someone has used a specific product. I will probably order the one you link if no one is dosing this.

Where do you get yours if you dose it?

    Protein skimmer problem.

The reason for a pump to lose power is a bad impeller. There is no other moving parts and the block usually don't fail. If you like the skimmer and can source an impeller cheap I would give that a try.
