Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
all your levels seems to be in the acceptable range except your alk. that is waay to low. alk levels should be between 7-12 dkh. I keep mine between 7-8 dkh. i would see if you can grab another test kit and test with that and compare with your kit.
agreed! you'd be surprised where turbos end up. I had a couple in my frag tank and those things would end up in the sump somehow. snails in general can travel if they really want to. no fear in those little creatures. haha
Hey guys,
anyone visited Feng recently?
I havent passed by in in a couple of months, does he still have the same number?
updated hours? or still the same?
can you take a pic of it? could be trapped nitrogen gas. I also don't advise popping/siphoning bubble alage because if they do burst they release spores that will create more. if its a minimal amount I usually just leave them alone because they eventually go away.
John, love the car man!
Nice choice! Optima is definitely a nice ride. I've been eyeing one for awhile now. I'm actually very fond of the recent models Kia/Hyundai have been producing.
did you ever smell ozone in the air with this setup? I already supplement iodine with a few weekly drops here and there, so I'm not too worried about that.
I'll try and pass by this weekend bro!
the 80 is still closed for public viewing haha. still not finished with a couple of things and getting more goodies in the mail this week that will require me to revise my current plumbing layout. :)
Jun, I believe you really need to start thinking about dosing regularly. You say that you alternately dose kalk and ESV. kalk isn't used to increase levels but to maintain, however if your corals are using up more than the kalk your dosing, it'll be a loosing battle. there is always a point...
yeah, i understand that overdosing ozone can be hazardous to ones health but with every horror story i have read, it seems like the individual did not correctly utilize ozone correctly. usually using non-ozone safe tubing, connectors, etc.. but again, i wanted to see if anyone else currently or...
well i assume that ozone will definitely help on the GFO cost. carbon is a must have when running ozone, but carbon is cheap enough that i dont mind. I will definitely be monitoring ORP with my Apex controller and will be controlling the generator that i plan on purchasing.
Hey Mike, what was your set up like? I am thinking about running ozone only about 2-3 hours a day just to clean things up in the water. I also do plan on keeping a bunch of SPS as I am keeping a mixed reef but definitely mostly sps. my tank is only 80 gallons + 40 gallon sump, im looking at...
I have and 80 gallon rimless as a display and a regular 80 gallon as a frag tank. love the dimensions of these tanks and are well built. Empire is correct about the bulkheads. make sure to pick up and extra set before leaving the LFS.
I would like to implement it to help with water quality and possiblly reduce the chances of introducing anything that could harm my fish or any other livestock I would get.
I am currently using coral snow, carbon and gfo. my only gripe with this however is the cost of upkeep. one initial...
which levels seems off?! red sea test are kinda weird. if your testing calc and the plunger on the syringe reads .4 ml you really dosed .6 ml of the test regeant. so look for that value on the cards.
