Well, I have been spending to much $$ on this hobby so I decided to try and save some. This is my attempt at a Kalk reactor. I did have a brand new mj400 mounted up but I melted it trying to dry the epoxy. :( here are some pics. Let me know if you think of anything that would make it be bad. BTW...
OK I setup my Korallin Calcium reactor today and I have a few questions. I have a PH controller hooked up to it with the probe in the chamber. What should the PH be set to? I currently have it at 7.2 but the tank PH seems to be dropping as a result. Normally the tank is at 8.0 - 8.2 but now it...
My aqua lifter pump is not cutting it for my ATO setup. I have the R/O water in the basement and the sump is on the 1st floor. Any pump recommendations?
How old is the house? Chances are those caps are rusted to the plumbing. You can try to remove it with a LARGE pipe wrench. Is all the plumbing cast iron? PVC would be alot easier to work with. When I renovated my house I removed almost all the cast iron pipes and replaced with PVC.
This will be my first meeting. Looking forward to meeting everyone. I would like to purchase some frags if possible. My tank is still young and I have alot of space to fill.
Yeah the water pressure breaks up the bread when you turn the water back on. Works like a charm. Water will totally kill a soldier joint. I could give a hand too if needed. I have a torch and soldier.
soldering copper is easy. You just need to make sure the pipe is very clean and the flux takes care of the rest. Also id you stuff white bread in the line it prevents water touchign the joints until your all done and turn the water back on.
