I'm considering using one of these pumps on my MRC1 skimmer, the flow is 1440GPH against the recommended pumps listed MAG 12 1200 GPH , SEN 900 900 gph, Pan World 50PX 590gph or 100PX 790gph. My thinking is that being I have the skimmer in the sump this would alleviate my back pressure issue...

I've been noticing my PPE's are turning brownish from the original purple color >:( my PHE's are still a very vibrant purple so I don't think it's my lighting. Any suggestions, they are currently on the sand bed but so are my PHE's ???

Is red gracilaria healthier for my tangs then the the typical nori/sheets of algae. I ask because I picked some up fishing the other day, checked closely for hitchhikers and through it in my sump. I started to feed the tangs with it yesterday and they can't seem to get enough of it :o
