Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
My tank was mostly sps until it crashed in December. I lost all of my monti's, pocillopora's and stylophora's. My acros were not damaged too much but I had to frag them up. I had a beautiful orange digidata and an orange monti cap that could not handle the stress. I loved those two pieces. Im...
Is your set up a DIY or a purchased canopy? If you purchased it I would locate the ballasts and separate the line for the actinics and redirect it to its own power source. This way you can control the light. As far as getting a NO actinic light, I was able to do it for a while with decent...
Your correct on the ballast kit. I was able to resolve the problem. I simply drilled two small holes on the end mount so that I could slide the wires in. Worked like a charm. I dont understand why they didn't provide the wholes. Their other VHO kit has them.
Thanks anyway.
I just received my new VHO retro kit. The kit did not come with any directions other than the wiring diagram on the box and ballast. I can figure out how to connect the wires to the endcaps and then attach them to the end mounts. I have a feeling that the end mounts are supposed to have a groove...

I have one on my 75gl on a Mag 12 return. I've had it for over a year now. Works pretty well. The only problem that I had was when some sand entered the pump and got jammed in the internal mechanism that switches the water flow. I had to take it off and rinse it out. Not a big deal because mine...
Where does the club meet? Im new to the group. Is there an info thread on the site? I would like some more info. Im in Hackensack and would like to meet some people into the hobby near by. Thanks.
I have to tell you, they have a large selection of fish and some corals for beginners/intermediate reefers but their services sucks. I remember the second time that I went there I was going to purchase over $200 on fish and corals and the owner would not give me any kind of deal. Not even when...
Im not sure what you guys are used to but their prices are on the high side. Everything from frags to fish were too much for my taste. 49.99 for a small six line wrasse is a little over the top.
