Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
We were lucky w/our Aptasia problem because they were growing on a pipe in the back of the tank. Couldn't reach them there to try and inject them w/anything. But they got so big we just pulled the pipe and replaced it.
We got a Copperbanded Butterfly and haven't seen any since. *fingers crossed*
That sounds ideal Carlo. Beyond my own capabilities though.
And you know, a store that's consistently rated the "best" could be given a certificate (easy enough to make one up) from the Club saying they were rated the best SW store in NJ. Good advertising for the Club and the store only wins...
The first is a Flame Angel, a Dwarf, we have one of them too. She's so purty. The Dwarfs are "reef safe".
The second I think is a juvenille Emporer? He's gorgeous, I love how they change as they mature. Didn't go there because I thought the same thing about picking at the corals?
Too bad you...
Open to any and all suggestions to make this better. Don't want to make this too cumbersome, maybe just adding a comments section for each?
If more than 1 - 4, what would you suggest the others "stand" for?
I've used that link before, but it's very dated. There are stores listed on there that have been out of business for a year or more. Also, I've tried to update it with stores that I know of and it won't take them.
Better than nothing though.
What if we did something as basic as just a rating...
Cool...wonder if we can move this along somehow. Happy to assist with it, but I'm not techie enough to do it on my own.
There are so many stores out there that are just crappy IMO. Sounds like most on here have travelled for the sake of a GOOD store with solid staff, clean tanks, healthy...
Renee,
Thanks so much to you and your family for hosting. It was great to find our first meeting so close to home! Your kids made a great welcome committee. :)
Your tank set up is incredible. I'm glad there are pix to show my husband, it was hard to describe it to him!
As a new member, it...
No, your corals should be fine. If the Aptasia has gotten big at all, the Copperband might ignore it. It did in mine, we'll see if it keeps the rest of it at bay. It doesn't eat flake or anything else we put in there, but he's sure not starving - so he's eating something in there. But our corals...
One of our boys woke up with Pink Eye this morning. So revise our count from 2/2 to just 1. We're still arguing over who gets to go...but either Sarah or Scott will be there. ::)
PS - Still bringing the fruit salad!
I know this would be subjective in a way...but would it be possible to create a ratings guide that can be kept and updated in this forum?
Criteria can be agreed upon by the members (i.e. Cleanliness of store & tanks, health of livestock, Aptasia/Ich, etc. present in tanks, customer service)...
I've never been too sure why, but it seems that almost every store I've been to can't keep up with the tank labels.
Call me crazy but...sell something, erase it...add new stock, write it.
That's a peev of mine. ::)
That's why we got our Copperbanded Butterfly, but he doesn't seem interested in it at all. But we have a corner tank and the Aptasia is on the back wall, away from the rock. Maybe that's why he ignores it.
I could go for another shrimp though. Maybe a Peppermint isn't a bad idea. But the two...
Ok, I have progress. I've managed to get some pix into an Album. But I still can't get them into the posting. The error is that the file is too large and cannot exceed 175kb.
Are there two different file requirement sizes - one for Gallery and one for posting?
Also, only see two pix per...
