Second time i have seen this, seems to make a tunnel made out of membrane also using small pieces of deb re, up to the frag and the frag is dead now. Happened over night! Last time I was able to take the frag out and scrape it away, it left a scar, like it actually ate the corals outer shell...

Suggestion, do not reuse old water, make all new water, and change again after a day when its all setup and running. That may take out the nitrates that are feeding the problem. GregH

Maybe just stop messin with them, new water, moving rocks, dealing with the alegy, will piss them of and make them close up for awhile. Things settle down and they should be fine. GregH

Here's the deal, Clam boats that harvest clams dredge the bottom and also pick up rocks, they bring the rocks back to land so they do not dredge them up again. They have been dumping them in a BIG pile and I have permission to collect as many as I want, large selection of all types. Neat Stuff...
