    WTB 3g-10g drilled

I just did the same thing with a 5 gallon tank that I drilled to add an extra refugium. Tank was only 20.00 and it worked out perfect. Just need to be careful glass is very thin.

    Lighting for 75 gal

I have been searching high and low for my Hydras. There are several on R2R in the 2 to 230 range. I just picked one up for 215. These lights are great lights. You can def find. I sent out several private messages when I was looking. I had many people respond saying they still have them. If your...

New dual diy hydra tv mount

I’m running the Pirates of the Caribbean schedule. Currently par is 184. Not even at peak and that’s with acclimation mode at 35% reduction

New dual diy hydra tv mount

I’ll tell you what these are way more powerful than my 3 Primes. I had to decrease %’s substantially because when I first hooked lights to see how it looked my par went from 160 mid tank with Primes to 306. So ended up lowering percentages and putting into acclimation mode

New dual diy hydra tv mount

I started at 12” but lowered to 11” right now and I will see how that works. Issue with 12” was the leds were visible while I was staring at tank. Now all I see are the cases. Guess if I was a little taller that wouldn’t be an issue. Lol

New dual diy hydra tv mount

So I decided to add 2 hydras over my tank and went with the TV Mount idea that I improvised to add 2 Hydra 26 lights on aluminum tubing that I painted. Used some aluminum spacers to drop lights off of tubing to make room for fan shrouds. Overall I’m happy with the outcome. What do you think l...

    Aptasia

I see about 3 on there. Pay close attention. If you can remove rock I would and do a thorough cleansing of the rock. (Muriatic acid) or if your ok with it just keep a close eye on tank and kill whenever you see one. Like ado says peppermint shrimp will work too

    Tank reseal questions

Personally I would remove all silicone on bottom and upright corners just for piece of mind. Since he would be doing the bottom it’s just another step to cut out the 4 corners. Now you have new silicone around complete tank. Like you told him new silicone WILL NOT stick to old silicone and...

    Tank reseal questions

Either way as long as you tape off and smooth out you can really make it look nice. All comes down to personal preference. I did a reseal with clear Ge silicone and it turned yellow on me guess that scared me from using clear ever again. I do believe they sell this in clear though if that’s what...

    Tank reseal questions

Agree with Dyiguy. If leaking and he attempts to reseal just a portion chances are it may work but chances are it may not work. If the tank is empty it’s as easy as cutting all the silicone out, taping and resealing. Better to do this than set everything up and the tank starts to thrive then bam...

    Hanging a light off wall

Tv brackets are a nice way to do it. Look good too. This gives you the opportunity to swing light(s) out of way for working on your tank. I’m in the process of making a diy bracket to hold 2 hydra 26 lights using a tv bracket.
