Yeah I would start with the bottle. You could also do both. You can use the powder for your daily adjustments and the liquid weekly or bi-weekly to add supplements. If you have a salt that adds all the minerals minor and major elements you need you can use just the powder.
Yes the liquid has everything you need. for a tank under 50 gallons it makes sense to use the liquid.
On bigger tanks you can use the powder and add the supplements as needed.
In my opinion kalk use to be a great product but now we have much better products. You don’t have to deal with all the mess that is caused by dosing kalk with a ATO.
Kalk is only Alk/calcium
Instead of kalk you can use
Tropic marine “all for reef” they sell it in powder form and like kalk...
Yes you should dial it up.
You will see a little dial to go from low to high.
But the pump that comes with the tunze is not strong enough to go up 12ft. If I had to go 12ft I would use another pump 6ft should be ok and yes you need a check valve
That’s not true I have two tunze ATO and you can use your own pump. Call tunze direct they have great customer service they should replace it if the pump is bad. I have never replaced my pumps they are original.
Now if you use kalkwaser in your ato that will kill pumps.
Oh my god I was thinking about getting Something similar. I follow acrylic creations in my Facebook and they had one on clearance for 1350 for the 90” They are currently running their Christmas in July sale
Yeah I see your point. But the number one reason why people get out of the hobby is because they don’t have time.
Most people when they start have a lot of energy but with time it becomes harder and they just tear down their tank. The easier you make taking care of coral the better it is in the...
No i disagree the frag tank is a better environment to grow coral. It’s easier to clean
It’s easier to light, it’s easier to move colonies around, even for the fish it’s easier to catch a fish and for the fish to eat. The volume of water needed is also much less. water changes are easier, less...
I just think it would make everything soo much easier. If I have to move a fish in a frag tank it’s not a problem. In the display it’s almost impossible. I can easy move corals from tank to tank without any problems. To cut corals will be very easy in a frag tank.
I am moving. I will be breaking down my tank. I am considering not setting up a main display. I am thinking about just setting up a few frag tanks and skip the display. I really like how easy it is to clean and maintain a frag tank. Corals grow best in shallow tanks.
So do I really need to...
Yeah I agree the lowboy by zoo med is the best frag tank for the money. $120~
The only bad thing about the zoo med is that the glass is very thin. So be-careful drilling
My 2nd choice would be a 40 breeder from $1 a gallon sale Petco.
Or if you can get a used 33 long or a deep blue are all...
Lps grow slower than most sps in perfect a environment. Do you run carbon? When you have a tank with mixed corals you should definitely run carbon and change it often.
My lps also grow slow but they move so it’s ok.
