Still out here.. was just able to get my 150w power inverter to work.. so I'm running a finnex digital heater.. when I turned it on it said my tank was 70degrees which I thought wasn't bad

Mine is now out in east Brunswick.. damn power inverter doesn't work properly.. can't heat my tank. Have a battery operated air stone and vortech battery backup thankfully.. hope the temps don't get low

Currently the gate valve is under the water completely by less then half inch. I've read it shouldn't be fully underwater. Why is this? It seems to be skimming just fine. (brand new tank, brand new skimmer.. been skimming for only a few days)

It's also this storm that's going to screw me. TanksNStuff had a great idea of just going slow and introducing one fish at a time.. but if this storm hits and my power goes out I only have one vortech battery backup.. well, i could run 2 pumps off of it, but it would drain faster.. DAMN YOU SANDY!
I tested today & I'm not seeing any Ammonia, Nitrate, or Nitrite. Some snails made it into the tank on accident and they're doing fine. Should I still wait it out to see if I get any?
