Still doesn't explain skimmer going off the rails. Only thing is I manually top off and use concentrated water conditioner. Maybe to much this time and skimmer went nuts. I usually do 1g per day but I had o add 2g uopn return from vac. Who knows.

I decided to test my water and see if anything odd shows up. I keep all my equipment in the garage which is very cold as we all know. Can I use the kits right away or let them sit until they reach room temp? Not sure if the temperature will impact the chemicals and test results. Thanks

Thanks, my sump is small too; can't even add a fuge.

I don't do water changes often, probably did 10g 2x since tank was setup in Sep. I use Red Sea coral colors weekly and will look into Triton and AF.

I added moonlights to my tank yesterday, thanks mark_c. When the lights went out I noticed that the moonlight showed the front tank has scratches. Most likely from sand caught in magnet cleaner. They are a few inches from top. Is there a way to get them out without taking the whole tank apart?

I have good luck with fish purchased from ACC, corals are hit and miss but will not hold that against them. Some corals do well and others don't; can be the tank itself other corals or fish bothering it. My concern is the staff and what I consider misleading info.
