Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
My boat is away for the winter but I have the two outdrives in my garage so in the spring I have to do yearly maintenance on them like paint them with antifouling paint, replace the zinc's and change the oil. I can't wait to get out and do some collecting in the summer as that is one of my...
Hey, I am famished, I wish my caretaker would turn on the lights....Oh..Thats better..now for a snack..Oh, that was good. Wow, is that a new frag?..as soon as I grab a snack, I am going to check that out. Way cool frag. Dam, I'm hungry, Oh there's one..... I feel like stretching my dorsal...
Today I picked up this very cool clingfish although I have to admit, I never had much luck keeping them very long. You don't see them very often and I don't really like common fish.
Today December 7th in 1941 Pearl Harbor an American Naval base in Hawaii was attacked. 2403 American sailors and Marines were killed and 18 ships were sunk or badly damaged forcing the US to go into WW2. We should remember these brave Americans so that their sacrifice is never forgotten...
I hope he recovers. I have autopsied many fish with that black spot and it is internal bleeding probably from capture. If it is that, it is always fatal as the blood just becomes infected as it lays beside the organs. But if the spot is just from an exernal injury, it will go away
The general opinion is if something dies, there is something wrong. That is not always the case. Things can die for a few reasons not directly related to anything under our control and there is not always a need to add something or remove something. Fish die of old age as many of mine did...
I generally do know the test numbers which is why I rarely test, but a couple of corals croaked so I figured I would test. When I get a reading of 160 for the nitrate I knew the test kit was toast.
And when got a new kit that read 90,I also knew that that was fantasy. I changed the water...
I am not a big fan of testing the water every ten minutes as long as everything is living well, but last week I lost a couple of new torch corals so I figured I would test the water. I have a very old nitrate kit probably from Christopher Columbus test kit company so that is what I used. My...
That coil thing is now changed. There is now an inside coil and an outside coil. The entire thing fits inside that blue tube that gets sealed and just makes it look cool. The tank is running well but I surpassed the ability of the bacteria to process nitrates. It will be fine if I could stir...
I have a slight tank problem. Last week I bought a torch coral with a bunch of heads on it which is very cool as I have quite a few of them. Yesterday I noticed one head croaked, that is not supposed to happen so I broke down and tested the water for PO4 and nitrates. The two kits I have are...
Joe, I post this thread every year on 5 or 6 forums. Unfortunately, it only gets 3 or 4 comments. Thank you for your service. I am no longer in the military but I have a Coast Guard Captain's License which actually doesn't mean anything. :subdued:
Remember the Veterans this Tuesday as they fought for us and made the US the best country on Earth. If you have an American Flag (it would be nice if all American's did) Tuesday would be a nice day to display it. Without Veterans, we would not have this hobby Dance
