I tried the Coralife 125 and didn't like it. It would not skim at times no matter what. Would it take apart but was clean and nothing stuck. I gave it away and bought a Nac7 which I loved. I now have the Hob Reef Octopus and works great. I would not trade as I feel the RO is a better skimmer.

Well the damn urchin stole one so didn't make it. The other is not as white but no polyps come out.

Thst doesn't help clean my sand. Would have to pull it off the hose.

Damn wish I had sump. All I have is the skimmer and the return is covered to prevent air bubbles.

The hose is to long to submerge without possible damage to coral, so why chance it. I tried a turkey baster but it took forever to get the siphon going.

IMO regarding fish and tanks in general whether it be FW or SW. I keep what ever my water parameters allow me. Example: my tap water is more alk therefore I could never really keep FW fish requiring more acidic water. I tried with chemicals, peat, etc.and it works but if you miss for some reason...

Very nice Paul. Before I went into saltwater I kept FW fish and I did everything by the book and many fish didn't last long and could never figure out why. My dad would have the same fish and even gave me babies but nope. He would empty all the water and change all filter material at same time...

ACC had some.

I have that skimmer and agree. Fits nicely over the tank rim with no issues. I think you will find problems with HOB skimmers and lights that sit on top of the tank.
