you can certainly do this. I didn't try this with the tunze ato as the pump for the tunze sits at the bottom of the reservoir which would eventually gum up the pump if you have all the kalk settling in there. I am not familiar with the jbj ato so maybe that is not an issue.

Should be fine. Now that i think about it I might have biospira from one of my macna good packs i never used. Does it expire? hmmm - i'll have to check. Where are you located? and yes adding biospira is fine while the fish are in there, ideally it goes in before.
