old thread i know - and I admit i am one of the naysayers. I think cheato is far more efficient for exporting nutrients in combo with a good skimmer. But I will admit that in this hobby there are many ways to get there - so if it works for you - post up pics!

either way will work - as long as you approach it gradually. It's likely the fish adjusted to the higher sg over these past few months. It would be hard on them if you switched it back to 1.026 over a 48 hr period (or something).

fred - spend the money and get a refractometer. Put up a WTB/want to buy - someone must have one available. a few point off on salinity/specific gravity and you'll end up spending a lot more money replacing the deaths that occur due to improper water.

if they fight - you can be assured that the clownfish will be the winner since the crab has not real claws (the two pincers on the front appear to be more show than anything else). You could always just get the "regular" porcelain crabs. They do not all have to be in an anemone. I got a hoard...
