This may be a stupid question.. But you have the check valve set so the flow is going the proper way right? I also think that some have to be mounted vertically and some horizontally.. I have an extra 3/4" check valve you can have if you want it. It has the hose barbs on it. It cut back the flow...

I believe as long as the ingredients dont have anything but algae (or seaweed) it is ok. I have the roasted kind. The flavored kind is the stuff you can't use. Although I wonder how my tangs and angel would like some wasabe (sp?) flavored nori. lol :)

maybe about 8 inches or so above the tank. As far as the light spilling out..You will never avoid that problem unless you have a canopy. That's a problem you really can't avoid.

I would also say to get the 250 watter. I bought 175 watt MH system...4 months later I was upgrading to 250 watts... Luckily I was dealing with Premium Aquatics and they let me return my ballast and credit it towards a new one.

Yeah I agree with Ghost. They sell it as play sand. According to Dr. Ron that is the same sand used for the aquarium. Just labeled differently and sold cheaper.
