Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
Keep in mind that a bta may not necessarily agree to host a percula or ocellaris...typically in the wild those two clowns are associated with other anemones (carpet and lta) that are known to grow very large.
It may very well work - I mean I have seen clowns host with soft corals...
aw man - I forgot to tell you - sign up for njrc membership...if you go back to AqOb in the future -they'll apply a discount...you should make up your membership fee in notime...
Anyways - glad you liked it...there are some real die-hard supporters/fans on this site.
Now we'll have to see pics!
sessile...motile...always get them mixed up one way or other...goes to show you should never take anything on the board as "fact" - verify verify verify!
Just ah...be nice when you correct me! ;)
i guess one thing that wasn't addressed in this post is why you want to rid yourself of the...
I used that for my 55...I tried to smooth it out with a CC but it was difficult to do. I ended up with very slight creases...I'm guessing someone more handy could have gotten out the bubbles. It wasn't obvious unless you stared at it up close and the tank was empty. Once the tank was filled with...
any chance you could hop across the outer bridge and then go up rt1 to Aquatic Obsessions? Last time he had them in stock from a local breeder here in nj. I'd be concerned about shipping in this weather.
pests to look for...well I'd hope there isn't a mantis hidden away in a nook...if you are patient, they have amazing eyesight and you could wait for it to pop it's beady eyes out at ya...
aiptasia/majano anemones...look it up for pics.
cirolanid isopods...whelks/carnivorous snails...big green...
first off on the clowns - it is by no means an assured thing that the clowns will take to any coral...especially the small ones that are tank bred...my ocellaris (or it could be a percula...i never could figure out which was which) loved the SEIO pump for like the first year...it wasn't until...
H'awai'i is a very pro-environmental state and the people (most of em at least) try hard to co-exist with the environment in harmony. This isn't a 3rd world country where people have to be told why they shouldn't use cyanide to catch fish. They have several reserves/no-catch zones, and maybe...
has richard indicated when the weather will break for diving for your first half shipment? I assume you're going to Newark to pick up? or r u having them ship door to door?
btw - that sandsifter...is it necessary to provide any extra "food"? Serpent stars I had enjoy a nice cube sized meal at lights out...I just dunno about sand sifters...
wow that is strange - sorry to hear about it.
did it eat at the LFS where you purchased it? If you didn't observe that - it's possible it wasn't net caught...
anyways - sometimes when that happens to me, I first mentally note where I got it from (as perhaps I would want to switch) and then...
First - really sorry about the losses...the subject line made me think you went to see a NASA rocket launch and it got canceled due to weather or something. Anyways - now that I've digested it...
this may be way out there as a guess - but have you ever checked the water to see if it is CO2...
I'd do it a little at a time...only because the sand bed right now is probably too shallow to have anaerobic bacteria - and hence most of it is going to be aerobic, oxygen needing bacteria. If you pour the entire 1.5 on top of them - you may literally suffocate that bacteria...which may result...
David - sorry for the loss...
I know it's of little consolation - but you had the chance (albeit brief) to witness something in your tank that very very few others have or will ever see. Your clowns could have been bought by someone else and kept in a 5 gallon nemo tank never to breed - but...
I just came home and spotted these headlines...is it true? Frankly if we could just keep our own blue-chip prospects (think kazmir) - we wouldn't have to fork $100 million to the guy....
of course I guess it doesn't hurt to have my employer (citigroup) paying $5 million a year just for naming...
You can get a really great bargain deal on used items - assuming the item is still in quality/working order. still - I have read more than enough of unscrupulous people selling items that were pictured well -but shipped poorly or not as pictured. Worse case was the one guy who didn't ship...
