    Bubble trap is it necessary?

It depends on your skimmer. Note, my skimmer is an SWC160. I too have a 40 breeder sump with no bubble traps.....only two baffles. The setup is, from left to right, filter sock and skimmer / return pump (and biopellet reactor) / refugium. I have no bubbles in my return section.

Welcome To NJRC! Take a minute to introduce yourself

Welcome Cliff. I suggest you start a Tale of the Tank. Although it might be too early to start stocking your tank, you might want to check out our Frag Swap next Saturday. All info is just below our red banner above, under "Frag Swap."

    replacement cartidges

I'd leave the membrane alone and start by replacing the sediment filter and two carbon blocks (ca $25). The resulting TDS would determine if I'd change out the DI resin.

    Apex assistance...

I don't know Apex, but that temperature range doesn't seem right. I have an antique ReefKeeper II that is set to go on at 78.0 and off at 78.3. The way I see it, your settings will cause for a 6 degree temperature swing from 78 to 84, and then down to 78, yada, yada, yada.

Best place to discharge dosing pumps?

George, as others have said, I think you are over-thinking this. I don't think it really matters where the alk and calc enter your system. Realize the pumps are 1.1 ml per minute.....it is entering as drops, and dissipates very quickly. As long as you have some movement, you're good to go...

Suggestion for approx 10g ATO reservoir that will fit inside a JBJ 45g tank stand?

Kevin, it's half inch plexi that I first cut a kerf (slot), using my radial arm saw that snugly fits the tubing, and then cut into a circle using a hole saw. These were originally made to fit into the mouth of a one gallon Ocean Spray juice jug. I no longer use these jugs, having switched...

Suggestion for approx 10g ATO reservoir that will fit inside a JBJ 45g tank stand?

For my JBJ 28 I'm using a cereal container from Walmart. What I like about it is the wide opening in the top to make water additions very easy. This one is only two gallons, but still check out the other plastic containers they have....loads of all different sizes.

Bill, nicely done! I'd go with a couple water lilies and some colorful frogs for that swamp to satisfy the wife. My advice, if that doesn't work, dump the wife and go salt! :o Welcome back Bill.

Brando's 28g JBJ Nano Cube LED PRO

I have a JBJ28 with two mini-maxi anemones. I see no reason why you couldn't have an RBTA.

    FragSwap 2014

You could always take a break and visit Harold's Deli.....maybe a half mile away....with three of your friends....and share a pastromi or corned beef sandwich. Even with the four of you sharing one sandwich, you'll still have leftovers.
