Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
George,
I'm concerned as I view your signature. It appears that a 0% water level and a 0ppt salinity may indicate that your tank, in fact, has no water in it.
If you have concerns regarding dry, immobile livestock, this might be suspect.
Perhaps this unit may have use.

I did get some reasonable sounding advice about Peppermint shrimp.
Get one or two peppermint shrimp, a small rock with aptasia, a plastic 'cage' (like a berry container or such).
Place rock on sandbed.
Cover rock with cage.
Place shrimp in Thunderdome.
Eventually shrimp will eat the aptasia...
Wow. That looks fantastic if its accurate. Only concern I would have would be that $500-$600 a year on replacement discs. Up to $50 a month seems a bit expensive to support an unproven $500 product.
Avoid the Coralife like the plague. Had one, broke, customer service was excellent, replacement one broke.
I'm using a reef octopus classic 110 (internal) for a 65g, works fantastic.
Edit: just saw you solved the problem, grats :)
Going to pick up tomorrow. Will do a bit of haggling. If anyone else interested I'll check the this thread and my PMs tomorrow early morning. It is a great deal.
Joe, He didn't quote me the price on the 6' sheets but I'm guessing they'll be $40-50 each. I'll grab those 2 for you and a few...
Agreed. Tropiquarium ;) is a great place for a tank/stand buy if you're looking to buy new. Been in there a few times where I've been tempted to purchase a tank/stand just because of the price.
Returned from work, no deaths today, some corals appear to be opening up again.
Another 10g WC tomorrow AM, maybe one Sunday PM, and hopefully back on track.
Thanks all for the help and advice. Gives me drive to get off my *** and start addressing alk, probably will go for a doser over next week...
I used to live in the town that story was based on, Seneca Falls, NY. Every year they have the surviving cast come up, they put on shows, the town goes wild, it beautiful and fun and the spirit is contagious.
For the other 355 days of the year its usually buried in 15 feet of snow or suffering...
Lost a hermit today.
So, that's 1 fish, 1 crab, 1 shrimp, 1 softie, 1 SPS, 1 anem (possibly 2) in 2 weeks.
I'm aware I need a doser at some point, but the way I've been dosing recently hasn't altered in over a year and the tank, as a whole, has done very well.
There has been no alteration...
Cheers chill, never been big on the freshwater side and my wife picked the fish on the basis of, "I like that".
Mark, cool deal. Glad its staying within the group, sorta. Droppping a PM now.
Hey all,
Here's a few shots of the tank. One of the flourescents is out and I've got a yellow bulb in there atm.
Second shot gives a size comparison v a 4yo.
Got a proper fish count as well. 4 neons, 1 hatchet, 1catfish, 1 ghost shrimp, 2 freshwater nerite snails (happy enough to have laid...
Last time the tank required a large dose was about 2 months ago. It required about 17-18oz and the dose was split over 3-4 days at 4oz or so per day.
I check alk every week when I do water changes. Water is changed in the morning. Alk is checked that evening. If a dose is required, for example -...
Yep, once per week. I've forgotten once or twice in the past leading to a 18oz or so dose, but for the most part 6-9 per week is normal.
77.8 atm, I leave the AC on when out and have the tank fanned. Temperature is pretty stable between 77-78, on very hot days it may jump to 80, highest I've...
KK,
That was my initial thought. I even replaced my Aqueon with a Mag last week. BUT! Your reply got me off my ***. I broke out the meter, replaced the batteries, plugged one end into the outlet and dropped the other in the water. I'm running at 9-12 VAC atm. So that seems OK. I may re-test...
Sequala of events:
2-3 weeks ago noticed a resurgence of bryopsis.
10% water change.
Started GFO.
7 days or so ago I noticed that my 2 small anems shrinking, quickly. Got one to the QT, the other I couldn't (can't) find. The QT anem died, assume tank anem is dead.
Immediate 20% water change...
