You can adjust with the valve, but with my pump even on the lowest setting there was still a humming sound. It wasn't that bad, but the tank is right next to my work desk and i'm very sensitive to humming noises.

Nitrate I try to keep around 10, phosphate about .05. Alk I personally keep around 7.6 because that's the alk of my salt. Have a video of tank? How is your flow?

I used to use Kent M magneisum to fight bryopsis. Raise Magnesium over 1500 with the Kent M and keep it there. That along with spraying hydrogen peroxide on the live rock taken out of tank.
