Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
Yeah, go with the super flex PVC for the return pump up to the tank and visa versa. Ethan swears by it and it allowed us not to have many (if any at all) 90s. Another thing to think about is UV, we added one after years of being naysayers, and I think on a system that big, the good outweighs...
We have two, I think they are a pair, but they do just fine together.
As I said, not a cheap fish but the prices online are more than we paid. We got them from AO and Elos and did not pay what say Liveaquaria has them for. They fit what we want in the tank, reef safe, peaceful (for the most...
jgraz nailed it. It enables me to turn a valve, plug in pump one, plug in pump two, turn the valve back on and boom a 65g water change. No lifting, no carrying.
I am using the blue line pumps, I will check the numbers for you later. We changed them (went down) as the Elos overflow box likes...
Considering your build will be very very similiar to ours, I figured I would weigh in on a few things (also feel free to swing by if you want to check out Ethan's handy work in person for some ideas).
The slop sink is awesome to have and we would not really be able to function without it so...
Some PR zoas from LRO, I have more of these but they did not want to open up for me. We did a lot of tank maintenance last night so I think everything is just settling back down.
These look like bloodshots but are not, my actually bloodshots I got from Fox in person are to the right but did not...
I promised some coral pics so here we go:
Blondies:
Granny Apple seeds from zoanthids.com
ARC Pointsettas
Snitches from Zoanthids.com (These are amazing and my picture sucks)
Joe's Cherry Cordials from JKR
WWC Sun drops
RK Stiggy Marleys (with a hallucination)
A not so good pic of the...
I like option 1 for your move as well. With the canister filter and a couple of water changes, you could keep the tank like that for a long time. I think I have a HOB skimmer you could probably also through on there. You can rig your light over the coral in the stock tank, to keep them happy...
I think theoretically they could blow out a panel which is why they say that. However, that became kind of a marketing thing and they ran with it. If you have seen them really throw a wave in a tank and see how it crashes around, one could say they could blow out the seems, but a lot of things...
Flame wrasses are notorius for turning male even if you have a dominant super male. Right now we just have a pair, one male and one female. We will see how things go down the line.
