Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
We have a swelesi (swales) in the 57g. They are really cool but very reclusive, all of the basslets are reclusive. We catch him during feeding time and going in between rocks. Ours we got at AO after it was there for two months, which was good because they can be tough to get to eat and can...

I would take the kalk offline and dose some calcium (not a ton) to help bring the alk down. If your alk is consistently this high I think we discovered why your corals are not doing well. Ideally your alk should be around 8-9, high alk will cause tip burn and tissue loss around the base of the...

I have the hannah alk checker and use this site so there is no guess work.

Even with that is comes back at 14.39, but again your corals would probably be dead if your alk was that high.
If your alk was 14 all your corals would probably be dead, I think that was a mis reading. Your calc is pretty high and your mag is decent, so I don't think your alk could be that high. Might want to retest or pickup a hannah checker.
We basically could not even run this message board if they were to pass. We would have to mod EVERYTHING, probably have to ban pictures, videos, etc. One post that was deemed (does not have to be infringement just deemed) could shut down the website which we would then have to take to court...
The Feb issue is out!!! We are on page 105 and it is a very nice article. Great pictures Hawk and the club comes across great (just have to popularize my last name so it does not get spelled wrong).
Sounds like it is good for acros in general and is not a medication like flatworm exit. In other words, sounds like something I am going to dose for the health of the acros. Looking forward to the orders and will give me an excuse to get out there.
Might be a flow issue, as in there is not enough flow or it is not in a place where it is moving things around. If fish food and detritus settle on the rocks, you will get algae growth in those areas.
Are you sure it is hair algae? A picture would help.
We caught about 10 mins of this last night and it was amazing. Got to see mandarins in the wild and close ups of corals feeding on the reef. Really cool show.
