Tunze and Vortechs are really the best pumps you can buy. The reason they cost so much more is that they are made better and will last a lot longer than the pumps you linked too. You will probably throw more money at replacing the JBJs than on the Tunze up front. I know nothing about the Tunzes...

I have been dosing for years and can't wait to get a big setup so I can run a calcium reactor. Much easier.

Very nice fish, they are supposed to be easier to get over to frozen food then the green and spotted mandarins.

I put together 3 of them the other night, it took all of 15 minutes. I just have to get some rubble to load them up with.

I cleaned the swc 120 the same day so I had a good comparison. The skimmer smell does not linger quite like those dead snails.

I can't view your pics at work so I am going to take a shot in the dark here. First off, how do you acclimate your fish to the tank? What are your nitrate, nitrites, salinity and ammonia readings? When you say the fish got sick, how did you know they were sick? Where they covered in ick or...

The blennies could care less they have found a bunch of little holes in the live rock and just hang out.  The assesor does not come out really at all during the day but later on he is out and about swimming and looks really nice.  We are going to pull the mystery wrasse, we just have to come up...

So bad news strikes the 57g. The 46g tank was uncovered for an entire year with not one fish jumping out, and that included a helfrichi and a yasha. So we move everything and put covers over both tanks (one over the 45g for the jawfish and one over the 57g for the wrasses). I left a tiny...

There was also a terrible smell coming from the tank, thought it was the skimmer cup but it was not. Two snails got stuck onto the top of the overflow box and died. Those two little guys stunk the whole room up.

Quick update, I bought a shopvac and they make water changes the easiest thing in the world. Stick hose in sump, 10 seconds later the water is out, highly recommended. Pulled the filter socks, was not a huge fan of them. AI units are up and running, started at 30%, going to ramp up slowly.
