Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
natural predators would be ideal but I am allergic to cats. The mice are tiny. heck even the praying mantis I found in our garden was almost bigger...lol.
Joe - the torch coral is part of the same genus as the frogspawn coral, as well as the "hammer" coral. They all are of the Euphyillia Family...hence promixity of these corals near one another typically does not matter. However, they all have really long sweeper tentacles and can easily sting...
yep - you'd have to have a kind of raceway tank connected via bulkheads where each compartment held a single adult. Then when it was molting time - you'd have soft-shelled Callinectes sapidus. I find those especially tasty when rolled in sushi rice.
sorry for the hijack.
A tidal pool biotope...
Hey Folks...
Need advice on combatting Field Mice. None found inside the home but I am paranoid they will find a way in. Should I place traps outside? I am looking for my red rider but I heard that I might shoot my eye out. ;D
how much to prune depends on what you hope to accomplish with the cheato.
If it is for strict nutrient export, then frequent pruning will in effect take the nutrients out of the tank and also encourage more growth.
On the other hand, if it's main purpose is be a refugium - as in a place where...
I was able to hear it - I transcripted it here:
"My name is Michael Plott, this is Mason, first of all I just want to thank each and every person that has already donated to reach our goal of $25,000…for this amazing opportunity to have this surgery for mason. You know as a parent you want do...
I didn't vote since I don't have either (ozone or UV).
While there are tanks out there with both that are impressive, I've also seen tanks without using either that are just as comparable. Obviously there are other factors involved but it's something to consider (in essence: is it a requirement...
Never shopped there before but I'd try and get the skimmer and refugium separately unless you are set on the specific skimmer being offered. On there FAQ page they state you can customize it (that is, get the refugium without a skimmer) for a different quote.
Personally I'm going to pick up a...

CONCORD, N.H. -- The state is advising consumers not to eat a certain part of lobsters because of concerns about red tide.

you need to post your location if you are selling the shark. There's a sticky in the for sale about posting location (not zip, the city) in your subject line. ;D ;D ;D
I would have both overflows lead to the skimmer -> return.
The return could then be T'd (or Wyed) to the fuge.
The fuge would then just overflow back to the return.
There is a slight risk that whatever critters are flowed out of the fuge will get chopped up by the impeller of the return pump...
pretty sure they are a shoaling fish - but you're going to need more than 2. I have to go dig thru some old issues of Aquarium Fish International - I know I read about them there...be back.
depending on where the crab is - you could try and use the bottle trap or anything that has somewhat steep walls. Put something meaty at the bottom of it at night and then the crab may come out.
with regards to the hammer - you could try lowering it but I'm guessing the more flow may somehow...
Jul 29th, 2008 | LONDON -- British police were searching for a shark stolen from an aquatics shop over the weekend in southern England.
The female Australian marbled cat shark was one of a breeding pair kept in a converted garage in the back of a store owned by Peter Newman in Farnborough...
Well - southdown was meant as play sand and marketed by Home Depot - but it became the mecca for reef enthusiasts. I mean, why pay double the price at an LFS when you could get the same aragonite sugar grade sand from a big box store?
That stated - for this specific example, I'd tend to agree...
i think it may only be available in hawaii.
edit - btw it's hard to tell if the Pro Pak product is aragonite or silica-based.
I would suggest aragonite only because it can help buffer your tank. I believe Silica could increase the likelihood of an algae bloom.
if a heater is too small - you have the disadvantage of it constantly being on to try and warm the tank up in the winter. Of course the other problem with a correctly sized heater is if it gets "stuck"...
Some folks use two (smaller) heaters - this way if one gets stuck - it's not going to cook...
