I also use vinegar occasionally and it’s good if not overdosed. Start slowly and give the system some time to stabilize the bacteria population. If you see cyano bacteria cut down the dosing a bit. When I see the red in my rocks I just add around 2.5 ml and it’s gone buy next 2 days. Good luck

Looking good! It’s hard to keep the sand clean. I have the same situation where I get all this stuff everywhere. So I used a turkey buster to blow the rocks and a little stick to stir up the sand. Then water change… I didn’t stir the sand for a while and it didn’t look clean until I got there...

Just go slow with any decision so you don’t throw your money out of the window. Ask questions here lots of people will help and even give stuff that they don’t need anymore.. also the most important thing is: You going to learn as you go so pay attention to what you do.. good luck

Just to update the hammer just opened all the way after I move the pawerhead that’s hitting him for cleaning. Put it back and close a bit again but not as much this time. so I’m not worried about it anymore.
