Paul,
Timing is everything. A new study released earlier this week showing that gut bacteria ties in with immunodeficiencies. The primary gist of the paper is that analysis of gut bacteria, or lack of, can accurately predict if a child will develop asthma. The speculated treatment? Identify the...
Nope, checked voltage a month or so ago, all within normal limits.
Temp had raised a bit over past 2 days when I turned the fans off (expecting it to be cooler out) and hit 79-80, but fans back on this morning and back down to 76-77. Tank was stable when problem began.
Water parameters good...
Anthias in tank for 1 year+ and eating anything available.
About 7-10 days ago, as far as I can tell, it just stopped eating.
Did the normal food for a few days and observed. It would come out at feeding time, but just not participate.
Pellet, flake, frozen and live blackworms, fresh clam...
Happy with config of gyre130 on side and MP10ES on back wall.
Then got to thinking it might be cool to go 2 gyres, 1 horizontal, 1 vertical.
So, figured I'd see if anyone wants to make a trade - excellent condition MP10 for excellent condition gyre.

I stopped in Tropaquarium in Ocean last week and they had these Eheim lights on sale for $30. THey had a few varieties, I picked up a daylight/actinic for my fuge. Might be worth calling them to see if they have any left.
So, I'm debating on the positioning of my powerheads for the 90g. I plan on using a Gyre 130 and an MP10.
The 90g is a deep blue reef ready with the overflow on the left. I plan on having a 'dual mountain' build.
Anyone have anything similar they might comment on?
I'm thinking of having the...
I do not disagree with you, and, as per your recommendation, started a small blackworm colony on my kitchen counter. Post a number of complaints from my wife, I moved them into a small tank instead. They are doing wonderfully, though I do believe they are beginning to realize that I am 'The One...
Hey all,
My wife and I have been volunteered a few times to host, but it seems to get bumped last minute. We tried last month but were informed there was a meet at ACC, which was fantastic, thanks to all involved and thanks to John and his crew.
We were going to try this month and we saw...
I have one of these that you're welcome to. Its thick vinyl. Don't know if it would work or if you could do anything with it.
Lemme know.
I'd also like to see a pic of the tortise. :)
Up for sale is a set of 2 Maxspect Mazarras. Excellent condition. Love these but, unfortunately, they need open space and will not survive in the new canopy. Includes a number of mounting options and controller for ramping, weather effects, etc.
Includes:
Rail kit packages A, C, E, and G

OK, so the sump is ready to go for the new 90 and I'm working the plumbing this weekend. The big moment is upon me, I have to consider lighting (LED).
The 90 I'm building has a canopy. The canopy is part of the 'allowing the build in the kitchen deal'. So, it stays.
Currently I have 2 Mazarras...
Interesting slime article, I'm going to do a bit more digging later today on the tecchie side of the immune functions.
Seems we think along the same lines a bit; live food, immunity, supermodels, etc...
I was raising brine for a bit but harvesting them at the right time was a pita and that...
No prob, this intrigues me.
I was, for pleasure, earlier this week, digging through some papers at work regarding demyelinating diseases, which I have to do as if I'm seen reading sci-fi books or popular mechanics it doesn't go over too well.
Later in the evening I was preparing some food for...
Heya Paul,
I'm on board with this. I work in healthcare and dabble in reading scientific papers for fun. Its a fact, established more and more every paper or two, that human gut bacteria (of which we have more of than actual cells in our bodies) is at least partially responsible for depressive...
