    LR question

Well, I've had the rock in sw with a powerhead moving it around for about 24 hrs. I just did some tests, and the ammonia, nitrite and nitrate really turned out to be nothing. Think it's cured (didn't stink at all, either) or I just haven't had it in that 7 gallons long enough yet..?

Any thoughts on this lighting solution?

Re: Any thoughts on this eBay lighting solution? Roger that, Ghost Rider. i won't be at the meeting though, unfortunately. Sounds like a fun shin-dig though. I'm a 45+ 100% positive feedback ebay user since 2001. Been round the block there, and you're definitely right on about the feedback. :)

Any thoughts on this lighting solution?

Re: Any thoughts on this eBay lighting solution? Mott, Whenever I think of lights, I always think back to the setup you have for sale. If I was closer, I'd have that baby sitting on my tank right now. ;)

    LR question

My current filters are 2 Emperor 400s, which are probably about the same thing. I was actually thinking of using rubble inmside them for filtration. My forthcoming protein skimmer is a flotor biostar, which is a skimmer and a hob filter system with some form of biowheel. I was thinking that...

    do it yourself solaris hood

That's pretty friggin cool. Of course, it looks like the cost to hook it up above most of your gargantua tanks would be excessive, to say the least!

No sump or fuge yet. Just live rock and some HOT filtration. So far my water parameters have been tits the whole time since it cycled *given that was only about a week or two ago*. I actually won a protein skimmer on ebay yesterday, so that'll be here soon. Thanks for all the advice, guys.

Any thoughts on this lighting solution?

Re: Any thoughts on this eBay lighting solution? Yeah, thanks Ed...I'd like that. Not too many people around me have nice setups, and other than the pet store and pictures from online, I haven't seen too many up close either.

    LR question

Thanks, guys. I'm going to let it cure for a few days, do some tests and some water changes, and go from there. I'd really like to ensure that i get some good life in my rocks sometime, as I haven't noticed anything moving around on the ones in my tank yet. Maybe I just need more time, or...

    Eagle Reef Systems In Hillsborough

Awesome! Finally a friggin store in my neck of the woods. The best place I've found so far around here has been a Petco, believe it or not. Best selection, prices, and even the best LR I've seen for sale. Actually, if I may edit my post, while they had lots of good stuff in there, the guy...

    LR question

So, I had to buy some dog chow @ the local pet store. I asked them if they had any live rock and this guy said they had some pieces upstairs, but a bunch of nice looking ones downstairs. So we go downstairs and he has a huge tub full of rock, probably 200 lbs+ He says they just bought that...

Any thoughts on this lighting solution?

Re: Any thoughts on this eBay lighting solution? I would guess I would probably have to call the fire department and find a new place to live. Good point. ;) I'm basically just trying to find some decent lighting for ~$100. Could be a little more, could be a little less. Just not sure of what...

    Copeopods?

I was doing some reading, and someone mentioned this site: www.oceanpods.com ...and I was wondering if there were any reason not to order a bottle of the little fellas? Trying to keep my tank in as good of shape as possible, ya know. ;)

Those shots are amazing! That one pic looks like a giant broccoli tree! :)

These pics turned out pretty darn good, I think (tang, clown, etc)

It's a Canon SD400. For a point/shoot, it's a really nice camera. Although I can see the use of a dslr would be sweetness. I also think more light in my tank (1 35 watt florescent right now) would help significantly and not require the flash for good pics.

    where to get glass cut???

I've cut some glass for inserts on my coffee table. It's actually pretty easy. Lowes/HD sell glass cutting kits. It's like oil and something to etch it, and then you tap it and it breaks. Not sure if that's what you're interested in, though.
