I bought a mag from ACC a few years ago. and treated with meds. It did well until I sold it. If you need the med, I still have it. Absolutely fish might have it. I have not perused that saltwater section for a while but I would start from there.

I went because I need a break. Reef stuff nowhere near the quality of reefapalloza. I have a couple of freshwater tanks now. It's ok not great. I think visiting Disc Madness or Absolutely Fish will give you a lot more choices/quality and in some cases better prices.

I had both brands before and won't hesitate to get either one. Decide base on the features you need either will be fine.

The membrane just continue to work. I think if you flush the membrane after each use it will last a long time, like years.

Believe or not all these years of reefkeeping, I never replaced a membrane. Livingston water is pretty bad and hard, I guess it wears down faster.

I have platys if you want them. I got most of mine from auctions. Petsmart/Petco have them if you're not picky. A great store to visit is Discus Madness in Union if you're deep into the hobby.
