I agree hold out and wait for a better skimmer,some say that the skimmer is one if not the most important pc of equiptment in a reef tank.I have a reef octo too and luv it.

*rubs crystal ball*....Code blue the patients are fading fast....IMO scrolls are a hit or miss I always found.But that brain coral is slowly fading/receding..high nitrates for a long period could of done it.Keep me posted

Its an interesting idea for sure.Many yrs ago a fellow reefer and I had an idea to do an addition on the end of the house and light the tank with skylights and then use supplemental lighting for at nght and viewing off daylight hrs.We also at that time wanted to run the plumbing and sump into...

I'd go with an octo too or if ya wanna go a bit cheaper without sacrificing performance maybe go with an asm or euro reef...plenty of used ones floating around.

Mike funny you should mention that last yr I had a situation here where I was accused of growing weed in my house because the tenants seen the blue glow from my house.When confronted with this I replied the only thing I was growing were corals.
