Finished Plumbing at last......
At last I think the plumbing is done and hope to go live on the 4th of July.....
Heres some finished pics of the plumbing,I will run this for a week make sure everything is dry and tweek anything I need to.
It all depends what your looking to do.
I wouldnt frame out a stand and canopy in anything put pine, then I would get "nice wood" to skin them.Something in the birch, cherry and others along that line
Unfortunately the reef club in the Charleston area is not very active and there is only 1 LFS in the area so a lot of my purchasing will be online or road trips to NJ for a pork roll, egg and cheese sandwich and some fish/corals.
LOL.........We can ship pork roll with frags for you, good luck...
Clean 5 gallon bucket,1" pvc for risers cut eggcrate the diameter of the bucket and you can stack them as high as you want.depending on size of the frags you can get 50+ per bucket
I got rid of my leds because in my opinion they just arent where they need to be yet,I had great growth but lacked mass and color.
I never had that with T5
Yeah it a little tight but I still have room to get in there, the only function for the upper sump is to grow cheato so theres not much service that will be needed, Im also toying with the idea of putting a narrow raceway down the center of the main sump for mangroves but i'll have to think...
some more progress
Well had a little time again today so I did the following
put foam padding on top of the stand, and put the tank on it
set the sump inside the stand and mounted the upper sump which will be for macro algae and will flow back into the return section of the sump.
I still need...
Well I managed to find some time this afternoon and starting banging out the stand for the new tank,
Have to finish bracing and then ill stain and finish the trim and doors.
More to come as time allows....
Just got done hooking it up and all I can say is WOW......
The power these small footprint pumps have is unreal, runs silent only bad thing I can say is I wish the photocell was better built, ive been running it on all the different modes and they are all great looking to the eye with the way...
Yup thats an etss more than likely the 800 needs a huge pump to run correctly like an iwaki 100 high pressure pump.
Bio-balls in the towers need to be changed yearly to keep it running the best, you can contact gary at superskimmer.com to get the number per tower you should have in them.
